British Airways have confirmed the routes the first A380′s will be rostered on.

  • London Heathrow – Los Angeles – Commences 15th October 2013
  • London Heathrow – Hong Kong – Commences 15th November 2013

Exact schedules are on BritishAirways.com as the timings and flight numbers do vary.   Tickets for both routes are on sale today.

Whilst these will be the first regular A380 routes, British Airways notes

“A380 enthusiasts eager to be on the very first commercial services should note that dates for these will be announced once plans for training flights are completed”

Deliveries of British Airways first A380 is due in July 2013, with 12 in total expected to join the fleet. These will be delivered in a 4 Class configuration with a total of 469 seats onboard.

To coincide with the confirmation, there’s also a route sale going too with prices starting as below

It’s good to see British Airways moving along and expanding its long haul fleet. By not being the first airline out of the blocks with the A380, it’s had time to monitor the performance of the aircraft that other carriers are running with, and avoid major engineering messup’s.

And yes, I’m resisting pulling out my credit card out for a trip to Hong Kong right now.
